Concrete surface prep.
Every great coating starts with what’s underneath. Before any product touches your floor, we inspect your existing concrete for cracks, moisture, and previous coatings that could affect adhesion. We diamond-grind or shot-blast the surface to open the concrete’s pores, then repair any cracks or pitting, because a coating is only as strong as the surface it’s bonded to. Skipping this step is the #1 reason DIY and low-cost coatings fail within a year.
Base: Epoxy or Polyurea
Once the concrete is prepped, we apply a high-strength base coat, epoxy or polyurea, depending on your project’s needs and timeline. Polyurea cures in hours instead of days and stays flexible through Illinois temperature swings, while epoxy offers a proven, budget-friendly option for lighter-traffic spaces. We’ll help you choose the right fit for your floor.
Decorative flake broadcast
While the base coat is still tacky, we broadcast decorative flakes across the entire surface by hand. Beyond the look, the flakes add texture and slip resistance underfoot, and help hide minor imperfections in the concrete below. You choose the blend and color, from subtle neutrals to bold, high-contrast mixes, so the finished floor matches your style.
Polyaspartic clear coat
The final layer is a polyaspartic clear coat, applied over the cured flakes to lock everything in place and seal the system for the long run. It’s UV-stable so it won’t yellow in sunlight, resists chemicals, hot tires, and road salt, and gives the floor its glossy, showroom finish. Most of our finished floors carry a multi-year warranty.

We do a final walkthrough, share cure-time guidance and warranty details, and leave you with care recommendations.
